Latur girl tops again ! Latur pattern strikes again !
Girls outshone boys in the SSC exams conducted by Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board with Shilpa Basavraj Hiremath of Latur division bagging the top position today in the state by securing 98.61 per cent marks.
The overall pass percentage was 80.18 per cent, the Board headquarters here declared.
Around 16 lakh students had appeared for the SSC examinations (Standard X) in March.
The total pass percentage of girls was 82.1 while among boys, it was 78.66.
The pass percentage figures for Mumbai division was 85.3 with Sonali Shantrama Chavan, a student of Saraswati Secondary School, Thane, bagging the top score with 96.46 per cent marks.
Shefali Pradeep Mahadalkar (96.30 pc), a student of Saraswati Vidyalaya High School, Thane, stood second in the division, while Sanket Deepak Patil (96.30 pc) of Saint Anthony Convent High School, Vasai, came third.
The overall state topper Shilpa belongs to Adarsh Vidyalaya, Umarga, in Osmanabad district of the Latur division, which is traditionally known to produce toppers in what is called the ‘Latur Pattern’.
